Thredbo has received 15 centimeters of fresh snow overnight on Saturday with temperatures at the ski fields plunging to minus 8 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, a 68-year-old man from South Australia was skiing with his friends when the incident happened at about 10.15 am on Saturday. He died while skiing at Thredbo after an incident in which police believe that he hit a low-hanging tree branch. Police said the man died on the scene. Thredbo Ski Patrol and Medical Centre doctor had attended the scene but could not be revived, and he died at the scene.
Thredbo Resort General Manager, Stuart Diver released the statement that “Thredbo community was deeply saddened by the man’s death and extended its condolences to his family and friends.”
