A ski instructor named John Arnold, 79, from Birmingham has plunged to his death on holiday after veering off a beginner mountain slope. He was found dead at the Champoluc ski resort in Italy on Sunday. Till now he had organized the annual training trip at different Alps resorts for 30 years. Mr. Arnold was skiing alone on a beginner-level blue run when the tragedy occurred. It is believed that he lost his control while turning and plunges into trees.
Post-mortem results have not yet been returned but it is conceivable that he either suffered a stroke or heart attack which caused him to lose control and leave the slope because he was a qualified ski instructor.
