Austria’s Hochkar Ski Resort Reopens this weekend for the first time in May after uncommon heavy snowfall. The station’s director Rainer Rohregger said that they are in the middle of the preparations for the summer season. But the ice saints days brought cold temperatures and heavy snowfall, which led them to think of re-opening the ski resort.
It is the first time that Hochkar Ski Resort reopens in the May month and to celebrate it, they announced access to its slopes would be free all weekend.
Hochkar is located in the Austrian Alps about 150 kilometers from Vienna. It had 70 to 130 centimeters of snow last weekend.
