ABOUT THE PLACE



Just a few kilometers away from the main village Savognin, in the Surses (eastern Switzerland) is the ski resort Savognin. The tranquil resort of Savognin boasts a particularly wide range of holiday apartments. The eight children’s playgrounds are the reflection of the efforts that have been made to accommodate the needs of children.

Located in the Paradise on Earth, Switzerland is Savognin with an impressive landscape with its craggy mountain chains, steep gorges, and hilly mountain meadows. It is also one of the most-visited destinations during winter, especially for winter sports and is a popular spot particularly among skiing enthusiasts. Many winter sports fans go skiing and snowboarding every year in Savognin.

No wonder, the small Alpine village, in the midst of the mountains and magnificent snow-covered peaks is ideal for a snow-sure ski holiday.

Savognin is not only interesting for families, but also is a hot spot among free riders and fans of snow. The terrain is ideal to carve out tracks in fresh powder. There is 10 km of marked but ungroomed controlled descents at hills Piz Cartas and Somtgant Tigignas.

Below the mountain station, Somtgant is a snowpark with small kickers, rails, and boxes. In Park Tigignas, a little further down the hill, you can enjoy fun equipment such as ski fox or Snow Cycles that can be tried out on a small course.

You can also test your ski skills on the slopes or try out the permanent circuit with their timekeeping system. For a simple race track, giant slalom is applied. If you are going to a group or a club, you can also rent the track and organize your own race.

Apart from regular skiing, the place also hosts a magnificent snow park, halfpipe, snowboarding, toboggan run, artificial snow-making facility, ice skating, a timekeeping run, a fun park ( at Kinderparadises )  and a beautiful night-skiing (lighted).

SKIING



The slopes of the two mountains Piz Martegnas and Piz Cartas offer a total 70 km of slopes-

32 km (19.82 miles) for beginners

38 km (23.61 miles) for intermediate; and 

an additional 10 km (6.21 miles) of deep snow ski routes.


There are 11 different kinds of lifts operational for transportation of guests. The base of the sports area starts at an elevation of 1200 m (3937 ft.) and continues to the summit of 2713 m (8909 ft.); an elevation of 1500 m (4921 ft.).

The cross-country skiing has a total path of about 42 km (26.09 miles) but usually, only 25 km (15.53 miles) is open due to weather conditions.

Family day passes and family-friendly ski pass

A family with two adults (20-63 years old) and two children (10-15 years old) is eligible to receive a ski ticket for only 156 CHF.

WINTER HIKING

Several winter hiking paths away from the slopes are specially prepared for hikers and walkers. Particularly beautiful is the panoramic hiking trail, which promises impressive prospects so high above Savognin.

There are 6 different trails and the total winter walking or snowshoe trails are 42 km (26.09 miles) long.

TOBOGGANING 

At the resort, toboggan fans will find two long, groomed toboggan runs.

First, the Schlittada Panoramica run, where you will be thrilled to 10.5 km (6.52 miles) of distant serene view of the immaculate snow cover and the second, the Schlittada Run, which is an invigorating 7.5 km (4.66 miles) of fast and curvy downhill slope. 

SNOWPARK


The park is creative, varied, safe, and suitable for both beginners and good riders. 

Built in a line, it offers the perfect mix of jibs and jumps for kids, youngsters, and even adults. The different boxes – the Butterbox, Rainbow Box, Postbox or Elephant Box together with Funbox- and Roller jumps from the perfect setup for a progressive learning curve.

If you are sitting in the gondola lift enjoying the gorgeous view from the panoramic windows from Tigignas to Somtgant, you will see the Snowpark just below the mountain station. The snow-proof position at 2000 m (6561 ft.) enables it to be open almost all throughout the year.

This awesome winter sports area of the resort is very popular amongst the children and adults alike, with a very family friendly Kinderparadies (children's area) in the village of Savognin; the Flurin children's slope, along with the amazing Tigignas Park and numerous toboggan runs.

FLURIN CHILDREN’S SKI SLOPE

Flurin children’s ski slope is an absolute highlight for young visitors. 

The ski slope is designed with lots of attention to detail and tailored to the needs of very young skiers and snowboarders. There are obstacles, dips, and humps to overcome. You can also gaze at the little mountain goats from the sidelines.

The natural ice rink in Savognin offers a unique ice-skating experience. Here curling and ice hockey can also be tried.
