The Bodefeld Hunau ski resort is situated within the Sauerland Wintersport Arena. The resort stands at an elevation of 809 meters (2654 feet) from the top and 609 meters (1998 feet) from the bottom. The height of the vertical drop is 200 meters (656 feet). The resort also accepts the new system of Wintersport-Arena-Card regional ski pass which is the valid there. The resort is not far away from the Bodefeldvillage. The place is easily accessible owing to the absence of traffic jams and the huge parking lot located at the base station which is free of cost. These facilities also make the place ideal for a day trip. The resort also has a ski restaurant which has a seating area of 300 persons where guests can enjoy food and drinks. The restaurant has different huts that are cosy and have a fireplace. The ski area is compact but offers complete facilities. The snow coverage in this area is best during January. The resort is also among the top 5 highest ski resorts in North-Rhine Westphalia. The ticket prices cost € 24.90 ($27.06) and € 16.90 ($18.36) for adults and children respectively. Hence, the prices are very economical.

Skiing facilities



The slope area of the Bodefeld Hunau ski resort is one of the nicest slopes. The long 1500 meter (4921 feet) slope is beneficial for beginners who need larger space for practising. The resort also has a good snow making facility with 21 snow cannons and 85% slope coverage. Ski lifts: Bodefeld Hunau resort has three T- bar ski lifts. The lengths of the three lifts are 732 meters (2401 feet), 688 meters (2257 feet) and 1326 meters (4350 feet). All the three T-bar lifts have a carrying capacity of 1100 persons per hour, and the total lift length is 2.7 km (1.6 miles). The lifts are also equipped in floodlights that ensure safety. There is one additional lift too which is mostly used by lobsters, beginners and snowboarders. Night Skiing: This is one of the best facilities offered by the resort. Night skiing is one the best adventure sports one can enjoy. Hunau is one the most beautiful night skiing areas. It also has the longest floodlit slope in the whole of Sauerland with 1.5 km (1 mile) long slope. The resort holds four-night skiing sessions every week. The sessions are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 17:30 to 22 o’clock. Ski Rentals: The resort has two ski rentals with good quality and customer service. They offer every equipment needed for skiing and snowboarding like helmets, snowboards, etc. The resort also has two toboggan lifts and a cross country trail.


Learn to ski

It is all right if you do not know how to ski. Bodefeld Hunau offers ski and snowboarding training from the most experienced, educated and committed team of instructors. The experts teach according to the curriculum of the German Ski Association. The flexible teaching methods ensure speedy success. Also, training is given in different age groups which make it all the more fun. The ski school at Bodefeld Hunau offers Alpine ski course in 4 different groups, snowboarding lessons, private lessons, intensive courses and courses for children from 6 years. The classes are held on weekends (Saturday & Sunday) from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. Groups with 10 or more members are given a discount of 10 percent. The private lesson is 60 minutes and costs €35 ($38.1)and ski lesson of 2.5-hour costs €25 ($27.22). The snowboarding lesson costs €30 ($32.66).
