Breckenridge – The Best Place to Enjoy Skiing!



The town was originally named Breckenridge when it was created in 1859, but during the Civil war, Breckenridge’s pro-union citizens decided to change the spelling, and the initial ‘I’ was converted into ‘e,’ thus the town has retained Breckenridge as its name ever since. Colorado, situated in the United States, is the home to the Home Rule Municipality of Breckenridge, which is also the most densely populated municipality of Summit County Colorado. The town is situated at Tenmile Range’s base, so it has many residents who are only part-time inhabitants of the town, as they own vacation homes here.

Outdoor enthusiasts and adventure-hungry tourists and residents come here for the many activities, even in the summer, due to the many activities available, like hiking trails, Fly-fishing in the beautiful Blue River, Wildflowers, alpine slides, mountain biking, white water rafting, boating in the nearby Lake Dillon. As you enter the main street, you see building after building built with a log exterior, which adds a strange charm, which is complemented all the more with the knowledge of their historical past. Among the many events it hosts, Breckenridge hosts the Festival of Film that was established in 1981, every January it hosts the Ullr Festival, and of course, every Fourth of July sees a joyous parade with its participants drenched in joy and pride.

In 1969, Breckenridge gave the world the gift of skiing, and for it, peak 8’s lower peak was cut into several trails and the Ski Hill road connected it to the town. As time went by, this was gradually expanded to the south side of the town with peak 9 and 10 and the Northwest side became home to peaks 7 and 6. In 1989, Breckenridge became the beautiful backdrop of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and for Dumb and Dumber’s Aspen.

Breckenridge Ski Resort



Perpetually the most popular ski resort in the Western Hemisphere, it is located on the west of Continental Divide and is a work of Vail Resorts. Inc., which also operates and helps operate other skiing prodes of Colorado, like Keystone, Beaver Creel, and Vail.  They also own ski resorts in other parts of the country, like Utah, Michigan, Minnesota, and California. Covering the Tenmile Range’s Southern half, five peaks together boast of Breckenridge.

Situated on the northern side of Peak 7, Peak 6 is reserved majorly for intermediate riders and skiers, but still, include a considerable area of advanced cuts and terrains. Peak 7’s Angel’s Rest is the originating point of the Zendo Chair, which is how Peak 6 is accessible. The Zendo Chair ends at 10,800 feet, at the Horizon warming hut.


T-Bar makes Peak 7 accessible through hiking. Else, tourists also have the option of choosing Indian Express Super chair’s top point through a traverse. Its lower parts are groomed every night and are rolling trails for those at the intermediate level. It also is facilitated by two considerable lodges that are facilitated by the Grand Lodge and Crystal Peak Lodge. BreckConnect Gondola has two midway stations, one of which connects the peak to town. Independence Superchair services the peak and its base also have Sevens, a restaurant that opened in 2009.

Peak 8 has all sorts of trails, for all levels. The base area has four lifts, of which the learning area is serviced by Lift 7, the alpine slide, and lift 5, which caters to beginners who are a notch higher in their levels of skill. It is home to many extreme sports from all over the world; and houses the Breck Pro Team that constitute of 27 members. The best terrain parks of the country make it a magnet for riders and freeskiers who can choose from the black diamond rated freeway and blue rated Park Lane. The expert terrain is situated at the upper part of this terrain and the Black Bowls (composed entirely of expert chutes). The highest operating chairlift in all of North America, The Imperial Express SuperChair, is accessible through Lift 6 on peak 8.



Peak 9 is the second most historic peak of the resort, is accessible via Quicksilver Super 6 and  Lift A, and its lower part is for all beginner learners. Lift C, Beaver Run SuperChair, and Mercury SuperChair service the upper part of the peak, which are blue intermediate runs. The North chutes are on the north side of the peak, right before peak 8. Lift E services the peak, and also makes peaks 8 and ten accessible through peak 9.

Falcon SuperChair facilitates peak 10, which is located on the southernmost mountain peak, comprising of double black and black trails. The far South side has the double black chutes, and the mountain also has advanced terrain.




The slope aspects are 60% East, 20% South, 20% North and 0% West. It has 31 lifts in total, comprising of 4 high-speed-six-packs, six high-speed quads, one fixed-grip quad, one triple lift, six double lifts, four surface lifts, nine carpet lifts (All belonging to the ski school) and 1 eight person gondola. It has skiing and snowboarding school run by top notch professionals who give separate lessons for kids, women or private lessons if these plans are selected by the one who asks for the facility.

Along with the mainstream snow sports and activities, there are also other sports and fun adrenaline pumping activities available, such as Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Slide, Maze, Bounce House, Bungee Trampoline, Mini Golf, Bike Haul, Scenic Chairlift, and much more. They also provide lodging and rentals for necessary equipment.

Dew Tour


Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports operates and owns the primary action sports tour for the sports that dominate in the winters, called the Dew Tour. Hosted by Breckenridge for the first time in 2008, the second or third weekend of December have become competition time every year since the 2012-13 season Breck became the only winter host, apart from the other urban and beach stops of the Dew Tour. This significantly contracted the Dew Tour. The Breck Pro Team mainly constitutes a majority of the participants who take part in the Dew Tour, along with other top sports personalities from across the globe, such as Travis Rice, Sarah Burke, Tom Wallisch, Gretchen Bleiler, Tanner Hall, Shaun White, Andreas Wiig, Shaun White, SimonDumount and so on.
