A British school ski pupils were forced to cancel their trip due to unforeseen Coronavirus lockdown in Italy.
The school party was from Lincolnshire and they were scheduled to visit the Alpine ski resort over the weekend. However, the ski lifts remained closed due to extended emergency measures in the country against the Coronavirus. Italy is among the worst hit nations by COVID-19.
Due to the lockdown and lack of any alternative ski resorts, the trip was cancelled. However, there were no restrictions imposed on them and the officials helped them return safely.
The head teacher with the pupils, Mark Guest informed the media that they considered alternate options outside of Italy too. But they were ruled due to lack of proper insurance cover.
He also informed that all the parents were kept informed. He personally wrote to the parents assuring the safety of their kids. In his letter he also thanked the students for not losing their spirits due to the lockdown and staying cheerful despite abrupt change of plans.
