Trails here at the Enchanted Forest Ski Area are marked but you should at all times carry a trail map. Secondly, it is also advisable that you stay on trails.

This is mainly because it is easy to become disoriented even on marked and groomed trails.

Be cautious: Because it is not only about your safety but also about the safety of others. In many ways your presence affects the locals and the environment so, respect the trail and it is bound to reciprocate.

Once you are on the trail you will realise that conditions vary greatly and grooming may not be able to prevent ice, bare spots, falling trees, obstacles and inclement weather.

You are required to respect the trail in every manner possible and try not to purposely cause any troubles because grooming machines and personnel may be on trails at any time.

Sine their courtesy patrol cannot cover all the trails all day given their sheer length. So, always be in the company of somebody and try not to ski alone.

The New Mexico Skier Safety Act recognises that there are inherent risks in the sport of skiing. All skiers should be aware of these risks and should conduct themselves carefully and within the limits of their ability.

Finally, before you embark upon your journey make sure that you enquire about the local conditions, weather, highlights and various obstacles right on the map. Clarify all your doubts and be prepared for most possibilities and yes, don’t forget to have fun.
