The Gaaler Lifte ski area is one of the few that offer night time skiing in the area. Night skiing here in Austria is not the same as that of in the Americas or elsewhere for that matter. The whole atmosphere takes a romantic turn as soon as the sun begins to droop. And, with the end of the day the visitors begin to scale the hill on the chair lift here which escalades to a level of 1250 meters (or 4101 feet approximately) above the sea level. As one traces the height it becomes just impossible to ignore the view despite the cold weather. Now, this is the kind of view that one should have outside one’s own window. Gaale Lifte has ski slopes measuring to about 1.4 kilometers (or 0.86 miles) and is the freshest as it gets.

  • The Season: The night ski season at Gaaler Lifte begins on December the 26th and lasts up to the 30th of December and again from January 2nd to the 6th of January they are in service daily,
  • Hours: Gaaler Lifte is open between Thursdays and Fridays from 19:00 to 21:00 hours,
  • End of the night season: The night time skiing season ends by February 24th.

Operational timings

  • The Lift Services: The Lift Services operate on a daily basis between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
  • Night Skiing: It is organized on every Thursday and Friday from 19:00 hours to 21:00 hours.

The Training Center

Gaaler Lifte ski area proudly presents to you and everyone else their top notch training center. Furthermore, the best part about their training center is that, similar to the resort this center too has the best possible location – in terms of environmental conditions, the fresh & dry snow and safety measures. Additionally, their bounded slopes also make the area secure enough for the world class trainers to go on with their own teaching methodologies. You can also checkout the various testimonies from the previous students who were enrolled here – all of them apparently loved the school and developed a strong bond with the instructor. Moreover, they too were concerned about their safety as is everyone else but once they explored the Gaaler area this particular concern of theirs was minimized. Secondly, Gaaler Lifte follows the strict norms prescribed by the FIS so there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

 

So, how does the training program work? Well, it is slightly difficult to explain it because the methodology followed here at Gaaler Lifte is quite different. In terms of programs they do have a basic standard initiative but the rest of their programs are highly personalized. That is, the school first observes and confirms your abilities and thereon prepares an entirely new and unique schedule for you.

 

Gaaler Lifte area is also known for the various racing programs that they conduct from time to time during the seasons. Tobogganing and Sledging

The ski-tobogganing made available here at Gaaler Lifte is considered to be an ideal apparatus for tobogganing. Children particular enjoy this sport activity a lot.   • The toboggan run (Skiautobahn and Mirtlerpiste) commences its services from 16:00 hours and goes up to 17:00 hours and, on the days with night drive, they are open from 21:00 hours up to 22:00 hours.
  • The toboggan run is closed outside the toboggan run.
  • The ride with the chairlift begins at 15:00 hours and goes up to 16:00 hours. Furthermore, on days with night running these chairlifts also operate from 20:00 hours to 21:00 hours.
  • More importantly, it should be pointed out and remembered that the toboggan run is naturally icy and might cause some sort of trouble for you.   • Know your own ability: You must be mindful of your own safety when skiing and only use the ski slopes that are suitable to your skiing ability. The routes are divided up into blue (novice), red (intermediate) and black (expert) slopes. Each official ski slope is prepared and checked regularly.
  • Recognize when material is in proper condition: Part of a safe skiing experience is having the model of skis or snowboard that is right for you and having an expert adjust the bindings. Trust your specialist dealer. The experts will gladly assist you.
  • Know your own limits: Ski at a speed adapted to the slope and the weather. Avoid jumping into the fun when you are fatigued or do not have the proper technique.
  • Know the FIS rules. The rules for conduct from the international Ski Federation apply worldwide. They are mandatory and enhance skiing safety.

These rules also apply to experts or powder sports professionals and also to individuals of all age groups. Always keep in mind the following points:

 

  • Be considerate of others and help them in emergencies.
  • Only ski as fast as your ability allows.
  • Choose your lane and pay attention to signs and markings.
  • Be considerate when overtaking, and watch out for other skiers when entering, starting and moving upwards on the slopes.
  • The careful when stopping, ascending and descending.

  • The ski pass is not transferable! No replacement for lost or forgotten ski passes
  • Night skiing is not included in the ski passes – the following maps are available at night:

  • Unforeseen weather conditions do not claim reimbursement – reimbursement only with medical certificate
  • Reduced slopes and lifts offer no claim to discount the ski pass
  • Ski passes are valid only within one season
  • The individual services, which are entitled to network cards, are provided by legally independent entrepreneurs. The entrepreneur who sells the card acts as a representative for the other entrepreneurs. For the provision of the individual services and for compensation in case of any incidents, therefore, only the respective entrepreneur is obliged.
  • Children under the age of 6 are only allowed in the company of an adult; for children traveling alone and children in a group (Schikurs) reduced rates apply.
  • With the purchase of a lift ticket, you accept our conditions of carriage and grant us the right to use photos of our ski resort, which may also be pictured, for our own advertising and publications.

The Ski School

Mentioned below are the rates that you will have to pay for the Ski School depending on your age category.

 

  • Ski Kindergarten: “With Fun and Games” is their motto – they are above to accommodate children from 2 ½ years up to the age of 4 years. As the name suggests they provide numerous games and engagements for the children. This course spans across a period of 4 days and each of the sessions are 2 hours long. They are organized in two sessions – 10:00 am to 12:00 noon or 13:30 pm to 15:30 pm. It will cost you only EUR 119. Furthermore, you can find below the schedule of the courses:
    • Course I: Organized from 26 to 30 December
    • Course II: Organized from 02 to 06 January
    • Course III: Organized in the Vienna semester breaks (Monday to Friday)
    • Course IV: Organized in the Styrian semester breaks (Monday to Friday)
  • Children Courses: This course is able to accommodate children who are older than 5 years. Furthermore, it spans across 5 days and each of the session conducted is 4 hours long. Each of the days will be intensive and conducted among smaller groups and individuals. This course follows the mentioned below schedule:
    •  Course I: Organized from 26 to 30 December
    • Course II: Organized from 02 to 06 January
    • Course III: Organized in the Vienna semester breaks (Monday to Friday)
    • Course IV: Organized in the Styrian semester breaks (Monday to Friday)

The course allows students to choose from two options – the first of them will cost them EUR 169.00 and will be for 5 days or 20 hours and without the lunch. And, secondly, they can get lunch for the period of 5 days or 25 hours for EUR 219.00.

 

  • Snowboard Course: This program is organized for both the beginners and advanced level folks. The former learns how to safe slip, use the lift and operate on corners whereas the latter learn every skill in the book from highly trained professionals. This course spans across a period of 2 days or 4 hours in total and will cost EUR 69.00. The beginners have their classes between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon, and the advanced folks have their classes between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. They follow the following schedule:
    • Course I: 07. & 08. January
    • Course II: 11 & 12 February
  • Individual Lessons: Taking private lessons from Gaale Lifte will allow you to receive personalized attention and learn effectively. These programs can be tailor made to your specifications. Furthermore, these programs can be organized every hour and are also available for night time skiing. One hour of the lesson will cost you EUR 49.00, for every additional individual you pay EUR 9.00, a single days’ worth of lesson (of 4 hours each) will cost you EUR 170, and per additional individual it will cost you EUR 30.00.

Rentals and Purchase

Visitors have the option of either renting out various equipments or purchasing them right at the Gaale Lifte area. Mentioned below are the rates that you will have to pay:

 

  • Children up to the age of 6 years will have to pay EUR 55,
  • Children up to age of 14 years will have to pay EUR 99,
  • Children up to the age of 18 years will have to pay EUR 129,
  • Adults from the age of 19 years will have to pay EUR 139,
  • An additional amount in the form of EUR 20 is charged for security deposit.
