Elevation:

The winter sports area is based between the altitudes of 800 metres to 1626 metres. It has a vertical drop of 826 metres. Construction of the slopes is done until the top of the summit. Famous for its magnificent panorama view – from the foothills of the Alps to the Hochschwab massif to the snowy peaks in the Gesäuse. But the ski area itself also offers an incredible view: 15.5 kilometres of slopes having different levels of difficulty are developed. Not to forget the 10 km of cross-country ski runs in a beautiful winter landscape.

 

Ski Slopes:

Gemeindealpe Ski Resort offers 15.5 kilo metres of ski slopes. They have varying levels of difficulty, vis a vis easy, intermediate and difficult. Seven kilometres are easy, seven kilo metres are intermediate and one and a half kilometres are difficult. Valley runs are also available. A low-speed specialist is waiting for you in the summit area next to the steepest slope in Lower Austria. For high-speed fans a speed track with speed measurement is provided. The slopes are exposed to the east. The lower slopes are equipped with artificial snowmaking equipment. There are 68 snow cannons. This makes sure of regular operation from December to March.

The trained ski instructors here at Gemeindealpe will take care of you from the first snow day to the end of the season. Whether it is for beginners, advanced skiers or snowboarders, special attention is paid to every tourist.

 

 

Timings:

Offseason starts on in May, and the ski resort is open on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and window days. In June and September, the skiing resort is open on Thursdays and Fridays. Scooter and mountain cart operation is allowed until 1 November, afterwards only lift operation is allowed.

Winter Season starts from December till March, with sufficient snowing. The resort is open from 9 AM in the morning to 4 PM in the evening.

 

Lifts:

The Gemeindealpe Ski Resort originally had just two T-Bar lifts, but now it is equipped with two new chairlifts. One is a four person high-speed detachable chairlift and the other, a two person fixed chair chairlift. These can be operated even in the summer. The provider and manufacturer of these lifts are Doppelmayr, and it guarantees quality and safety. The Sunkid Moving Carpet is another ascension mechanism which is available for use. The total lift length is 4-kilo metres. All four lifts combined can carry 4156 passengers an hour.

 

 

Weather:

The weather at Gemeindealpe – Mitterbach am Erlaufsee during the winter is in a range of -5 to -6 degree Celsius at the mountain, and in the range of 0 to 2 degrees at the base of the mountain. It experiences a period of sunshine for six hours on an average. Wind speeds are very high as well.

Prices:

The price for day tickets for adults is around 34 euros, the price for senior citizens is 29.50 euros, and for children, it is 18 euros. Season tickets can be purchased at 200 euros. Reduced tariff for children and senior citizens can also be availed fro, Monday to Friday, except in the Christmas and winter semester break. It is a complete value for your money.
