ELEVATION:

The winter sports area of the resort is situated at an altitude of 900 m – 1700 m (2953 ft – 5577 ft) with the highest lift located at an elevation of 1650 m (5413 ft) and the lowest piste is at the height of 820 m (2690 ft). The resort is located at the foot of the mountain at an elevation of 750 m (2460 ft). The scenery is serene and calm and is perfect for a weekend gateway.

TRAILS:

The ski park is the perfect place for intermediary skiers as it offers 16.8 km (10.4 miles) lengths of winding pistes that provide both excitement and recreation for the experienced skiers. There are also slopes available for the novices, and it covers a total distance of 2.1 km (1.3 miles). Apart from the slopes, there are marked ski routes covering 1.5 km (0.93 miles). The longest run on the ski slopes takes about 3 minutes to come down. The park also allows off-piste skiing for the adventurers and explorers at heart. For snowboarders looking to do some rail tricks, there is a terrain park with jumps, rails, and even a half-pipe available.

LIFTS:

The resort has a total of 8 lifts for transportation to the necessary slopes. One of the lift is a double chairlift that can take two persons at a time. The chairlift runs the length of 1330 m (4364 ft) and has a carrying capacity of 900/hour. The other six lifts are normal towing lifts that run varying distance across the ski park. All of the drag lifts have a carrying capacity of 1000/hour. There is an exercise lift at the base of the mountain for children and beginners to practice, and this can carry around 720/hour and runs the length of 200 m (656 ft).

OPENING SEASON AND COSTS:

The resort season starts around mid-December and continues until early April. The park is open from 8:30 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon. These timings are subject to change depending on the weather conditions and public or school holidays. The fee for entrance starts at 31 Euros ($33) for adults, 25 Euros ($26) for youngsters, and 17 Euros ($18) for children under the age of 6.

SKI SCHOOLS AND ACCOMMODATIONS:

The Skischule Kranzegg-Rettenberg and Wintersportschule Grünten-Allgäu are competent ski schools that offer lessons or one-on-one coaching with a professional trainer. Anyone wishing to spend the night can book a bed and breakfast or an apartment or even a 5-star hotel. The Memmingen Airport is only an hour drive from the resort for those wishing to spend a day filled with sliding down the snowy slopes.
