Tickets for skiing and snowboarding


Now, the Alpine Experience will allow you to access the Alpine Plateau levels and the activities that take place in and around that area, but if you wish to ski or go on and ride then you will have to purchase an altogether different ticket.

Damage Insurance

Grouse Mountain Resort also aims to provide you with an insurance scheme by paying a nominal fee of CAD $2. So, there remains nothing much to worry about. However, you are also advised to note that this option does not cover any lost items.

Deposit

Every visitor is required to make a refundable security deposit of CAD $250 and / or of CAD $500 for premium equipment and it can be made in the form of a pre-authorized credit card.

Waiver

Visitors will also be required to fill and sign a rental waiver form. Moreover, individuals who are below the age of 18 years and require to rent out equipment then they will require a rent waiver form signed either by their parents or by their guardian. These forms can then be submitted at the rental shop or at the base of the base of the mountain.

  • Discovery Ski Session:

Like the others, these sessions are also tailor made and mainly meant for individuals who at level 3. Moreover, no group has students more than 8 students which further allow great degrees of attention per student while allowing each of the students to have enough fun.

The rates of this session can be found below:

    • Adults: Individuals who are above the age of 18 years but below the age of 64 years have to pay CAD $46 for the basic lessons. Secondly, if you want to include rentals along with the lesson then you will have to pay CAD $79. Thirdly, if you include lift tickets with the basic lesson program in that case you pay CAD $94. Fourthly, if you wish to include everything – rentals and lifts along with the lessons then you pay CAD $127. They also have an Evening Discovery Package which includes the – lessons, lift tickets and rentals then you pay CAD $108. On the other hand their 5 Session Pack (only for lessons) in that case you just pay CAD $180.
    • Seniors and Youth: Individuals who belong to this category (between 13 and 18 years, and who are 65 years and upwards) have to pay CAD $46 for the basic lessons. Secondly, if you want to include rentals along with the lesson then you will have to pay CAD $79. Thirdly, if you include lift tickets with the basic lesson program in that case you pay CAD $82.   • The Improvement Ski Sessions:

This is again a tailor made program meant for individuals who are at the ability level 4 but are below level 6. You can not only develop your skills but also explore the entire mountain as well. In this category, each of groups will have no more than 5 students. This is to further ensure that adequate individual attention is provided to the students while they have fun. Lesson Schedules

You can find the dates and timing schedules of the above mentioned lessens below –

  • Weekdays: 12:00 pm (except during Winter and Spring Breaks)
  • Weekends: 10:30 am and 1:30 pm (except during Winter and Spring Breaks)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays Evening Discovery Sessions: 7:30 pm
  • Winter Break: 9:30am, 12:00pm and 2:30pm (December 17 – January 2)
  • Spring Break: 10:30 am and 1:30 pm (March 11 – March 24)

It is also importunate to note that each of the sessions lasts for 2 hours and remembers that you can get 5 lessons at the cost of just 4.

Level 1: Introduction to Skiing

  1. Introduction to the Alpine Responsibility Code
  2. Able to put on and take off skis
  3. Can stand, walk and climb on skis
  4. Show good balance while straight running
  5. Able to get up from a fallen position
  6. Able to make a gliding snowplough
  7. Able to make a snowplough stop
  8. Can use the Magic Carpet

Level 2: Beginner Snowplough

  1. Braking snowplough to control speed
  2. Able to side step on any hill
  3. Can turn legs to show direction change
  4. Can link snowplow turns down Paradise Bowl
  5. Can skate along flats
  6. Able to get on and off chairlifts and understands chairlift safety
  7. Skis under control at all times

Level 3: Basic Parallel

  1. Can use turn shape to control speed on all green runs
  2. Stands centred on skis
  3. Skis in a small snowplow
  4. Skis become parallel at the end of the turn
  5. Can balance on turning leg
  6. Demonstrates the ability to bend and extend legs
  7. Introduced to side-slipping and edging skills
  8. Can ski the Cut confidently

Level 4: Parallel Skiing

  1. Can vary turn shape
  2. Controls speed with usage of turns
  3. Matching skis parallel in the middle of the turn
  4. Can make a hockey stop
  5. Introduced to ski poles
  6. Able to ski Expo and Centennial in control
  7. Can recite the Alpine Responsibility Code

Level 5: Intermediate / Advanced Parallel

  1. Linked rhythmical turns
  2. Can release both edges simultaneously at the start of the turn
  3. Can make a parallel turn on blue terrain
  4. Can ski various conditions on blue terrain
  5. Begin to make short turns
  6. Introduced to beginner bumps

Level 6: Advanced Riding

  1. Able to carve on all terrain
  2. Rides confidently on all terrain, on and off groomed runs
  3. Introduction to various approaches to riding bumps and steep terrain
  4. Developing timing and pressure control skills
  5. Shows good steering of the board throughout the whole turn
  6. Shows good angulation and flexion throughout the whole turn
