The well-known place of Grubigstein is popularized for offering its terrain for free riding for snowboarders. The place is ideal for beginners as the mountain provides low ropes and conveyor belts provided with two practice lifts. The all-year open mountain serves as an excellent skiing spot for families and groups in the winter and a popular location for hiking in the summers. The Mountain prides itself of a 2200 m (7217 ft) summit with a base of 1000 m (3280 ft) and a vertical drop of 1200 m (3937 ft). The Mountain has become a winter destination for many families and skiers with over a decade of hospitality and an average annual snowfall of 380 cm (150 inches). Skiers of all levels enjoy a total of 16 trails which are serviced by a total of 8 lifts, whose tickets need to be purchased. The resort offers a skiable terrain of over 27 km (17 miles) with snowmaking which covers the land to ensure you have the fun you paid for even when there’s no natural snow. Further, the place is well connected with neighbouring towns and cities, making it easy for the visitors to reach the place even during the winters.

The Grubigstein Ski Area consists of many varied and diverse slopes for riders of all levels with a total of 27 km (17 miles) of which 43% are for intermediate runs, 50% for advanced runs and 8% are expert runs. Lessons are also provided who need a good learning experience, especially for beginners. The place provides 1.7 km (1 mile) of free ride runs for snowboarders.  The longest run of the terrain is 6.5 km (4 miles).

 

Cross-country Skiing

Grubigstein Ski Area with its adventurous Alps provides with 28 classic cross-country ski-runs spanning across a total of 110 km (68 miles) and 28 skating courses spanning across a total of 110 km (68 miles). Skiing in the Tiroler Zugspitze Arena is a must for those who want to witness a scenic view. These runs and tracks are available at absolutely no charge. The Grubigstein Ski Area is a certified Cross-country skiing destination around Austria. The Zugspitze is the popular tourist location for the best views from the mountain’s summit which etches into one’s mind.

 

 

 

First Track and Ski Safari

Grubigstein Ski Area provides you with the facility to leave your footprints first on the slopes if you wake up early enough. At the Grubigstein in Lermoos, every Thursday brings you this golden opportunity which begins at the base station Grubig. This event begins sharp at 7:30 am which is guided by the professional instructors of the resort from the school Snowpower after which a delicious breakfast awaits us at the mountain. One has to register for this event which cost €52 which includes breakfast at the Wolfratshauser Hütte. The registrations are open until Wednesday evenings. Also, it requires for the person to get the skiing equipment and is proficient in skiing.

 

The Mountain offers guided tours named the Arena Express which takes us through Bichlbach. This event consists of an exhausting and adventurous tour around the slopes in Berwang; we will return to the resort. Tours begin on 9:15 every Tuesday at the train station of Lermoos and end at 3 pm. Registrations close on Monday’s at the Skischule Snowpower, and the event requires for one to own Tiroler Zugspitz Arena guest card. The cost of the tour is about €62 per person and for kids €48 which include coffee and lunch.

Night Skiing

At the Grubigstein Ski Area, night skiing is offered for those who enjoy the nightlife more. Starting at twilight night skiing has become a big attraction of the resort. Every Wednesday from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Familyjet Lermoos one can enjoy night skiing on the slopes. Every Thursday from 6 pm to 9:45 pm at the Egghof Sun Jet Berwang one can enjoy night skiing on the slopes. On Wednesday’s there is also the romantic alternative of skiing with torches at the Brettlalm-Mittelstation with snow instructors of Snowpower to guide you.

 

 

Lift Tickets

The Grubigstein Ski Area has a skiable terrain of over 27 km (17 miles) which is serviced by eight lifts of which 3 are gondolas and trams, 2 are high-speed sixes, 1 is double chair and one surface lift. There are many reductions like the youth, the elderly, the family and group reductions on these passes.

 

From 11 am an adult ticket costs €39, child ticket costs €20, for youth ticket costs €35 and for seniors it costs €37. From 12 pm an adult ticket costs €34, child ticket costs €20, for youth ticket costs €30 and for seniors it costs €32. From 2:30 pm an adult ticket costs €15, child ticket costs €8, for youth ticket costs €14 and for seniors it costs €15. Up to 1 pm an adult ticket costs €34, child ticket costs €17, for youth ticket costs €30 and for seniors it costs €32.

 

The price of tickets for one day is €43 for adult, €21 for children and €38 for youth. The price of tickets for two days is €86 for adult, €43 for children and €79 for youth. The price of tickets for three days is €125 for adult, €62 for children and €115 for youth. The price of tickets for four days is €166 for adult, €83 for children and €152 for youth. The price of tickets for five days is €202 for adult, €101 for children and €185 for youth. The price of tickets for six days is €234 for adult, €170 for children and €215 for youth. The price of tickets for six days is €375 for adult, €187 for children and €345 for youth.

 

The Grubigstein Ski Area is a special resort which has a sport that matches everyone. The welcoming resort may sometimes get crowded due to its popularity of free rides.
