The holiday region of Gstaad from Switzerland has a class and prestige of own. It stretches across around 8 villages and gives a true Alpine experience to everyone who visits this place.It is particularly popular amongst families and skiing enthusiasts and the food my goodness. Thousands of faces come to this place each year and leave with a box of memories in their possession. Gstaad owns around 200 farms, 80 out of which still use Alpine pastures.
4 snow fun parks of various slope style possibilities complete everything else you might feel missing. The Vannillaz Playground, the Monsterpark Glacier 3000, the HighLand Park and the Snowpark in Zweisimmen are some of the amazing places here. Having so much under the reign, this place will truly be the last paradise standing.
A brief overview of the ski resort in Gstaad und Umgebung –

Rinderberg/ Saanerslochgrat/ Horneggli-Zweisimmen/ Saanenmöser/ Schönried/ St. Stephan ski resort is known by many names, as stated. It is located between Lenk-Simmental and Gstaad. It basically lies at the center of the whole ski arena. The starts in early December and lasts until early April.
Ways to reach -
There is 3 entry points to this ski resort by road, namely Zweisimmen-Eggweidbahn, Saanenmöser-Saanenwaldbahn and St. Stephan-Lengebrandbahn. The entry is suitable for daytime visitors. Parking space is limited and maybe tarred.
A train connection is available.
Availability of lifts -
The elevation goes from 940 meters / 3083.9 feet to 2156 meters / 7073.4feet. 18 ski lifts are available, distributed into4 gondola lift, 8 chairlift, and 6platter/button lifts. All of these lifts together carry 18360 passengers in an hour’s time and make a total length of 24.1 kilometers / 14.9 miles.
Slopes -
88 kilometers (200 miles) of slopes of varying degrees and lengths are available. They are classified into different difficulty levels. 60% of slopes already having snowmaking capabilities. Night skiing is offered along with valley run. 71% of the trails are for the beginners. 24% of the trails are for the intermediates skiers. 5% of the trails are for the advanced level skiers.
Ski rentals -
The rental stations Gstaad and Zweisimmen are both supplied by Alpinresorts.
Eggli/ La Videmanette-Gstaad/ Saanen/ Rougemont is known very much for skiing and snowboarding. The season goes from the middle of the December till late March.
Ways to reach -
There is 3 entry points to this ski resort by road, namely Egglibahn and Rougemont-Quoquaire Gondola. The entry is suitable for day time visitors. Parking space is limited and maybe tarred. The stoned parking lot is found mentioned in the latter.
Apparently, there is no train connection available.

The elevation goes from 992 meters / 3254.5 feet to 2151 meters / 7057 feet. 17 ski lifts are available, distributed into 1 reversible ropeway, 4 gondola lift, 4 chairlift and 8 platter/button lifts. All of these lifts together carry 15363 passengers in an hour’s time and make a total length of 20.9 kilometers / 12.9 miles.
Slopes -
58 kilometers(36 miles) of slopes are available with varying degrees and lengths. 60% of slopes already having snowmaking capabilities. Night skiing is offered along with valley run. 61% of the trails are for the beginners. 30% of the trails are for the intermediates skiers. 9% of the trails are for the advanced level skiers.

The rental stations Gstaad is supplied by Alpinresorts, while Rougemont is supplied by Alpinresorts and Skiset.
Glacier 3000 is famous being the only glacier ski resort in the whole of Bernese Oberland. The season is optimal throughout the season, which generally goes from late October to early May. The arena is obviously beautiful being living at such height along with glaciers. It is a part of both Gstaad Mountain Rides sports region and Alpes Vaudoises.

There is 2 entry points to his ski resort by road, namely Col du Pillon-Cabaneand Reusch-Oldenegg. The entry is suitable for day time visitors. Parking space is limited and maybe tarred. The stoned parking lot is found mentioned in the latter.
Apparently, there is no train connection available.
2 airports fall nearby. One is Airport Bern being 99 kilometers (61.5 miles) far away and it takes approximately 1 hour 34 minutes of driving time. The other is Airport Zurich being 251 kilometers (155.9 miles) far away and it takes approximately 2 hours 34 minutes of driving time.

The elevation goes from 1343 meters / 4406.1 feet to 3016 meters / 9895 feet. 10 ski lifts are available, distributed into 3 reversible ropeway, 3 chairlift and 4 platter/button lifts. All of these lifts together carry 10260 passengers in an hour’s time and make a total length of 13.3 kilometers / 8.2 miles.
Slopes -
25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of slopes are available with varying degrees and lengths. Artificial snowmaking is not there though valley run is available. 3 running locations are available being, the glacier, above the tree line and just above tree line. 39% of the trails are for the beginners.13% of the trails are for the intermediates skiers. 48% of the trails are for the advanced level skiers.

Both the rental stations Gstaad and Les Diablerets are supplied by Alpinresorts.
Wasserngrat-Gstaad is yet another part of the Gstaad arena.

Wasserngratbahn is the only entry point to this ski resort. Ideal for day time visitors. Limited parking space is available. The parking lot is stoned.
A train connection is available.
Availability of lifts -
The elevation goes from 1275 meters / 4183 feet to 1900 meters / 6233.5 feet. Only 1 ski lift is available. It is a chairlift. It carries 900 passengers in an hour and is 1.2 kilometers / 0.7 miles.
Slopes -
9.3 kilometers (5.7 miles) of slopes are available with varying degrees and lengths. Artificial snowmaking is not there but valley run is. 38% of the trails are for the beginners. 38% of the trails are for the intermediates skiers. 24% of the trails are for the advanced level skiers.

The Gstaad rental station is supplied by Alpinresorts.
Relleri – Schönried is another part of the Gstaad arena.

19 kilometers (11.8 miles) of slopes are available with varying degrees and lengths. Artificial snowmaking is not there but valley run is. 52% of the trails are for the beginners. 32% of the trails are for the intermediates skiers. 16% of the trails are for the advanced level skiers.

These were just 5 out of the 8 ski resorts overviewed. The rest of them are Wispile-Gstaad, Heiti-GsteigbeiGstaad and Lauenen. This place is nothing less than what it is usually complimented for. The slopes are as wide as 3000 meters, there’s nothing more to ask for. And if you did not feel good about one, just skip to the next one beside.
