Overview


The Hauereck ski area is endowed with some of the most amazing natural features and secondly, it is also retrofitted with the best known modern amenities. You can take a look below to know more about them:

Pistes: Hauereck ski area has the following 4 operational pistes –

o Steinwandabfahrt: It is of the medium type and measures 800 meters (or 2624.67 feet) in length.
o Hauereckabfahrt: It is of the easy type and measures 1500 meters (or 4921.26 feet) in length. 
o Hahngrabenabfahrt: It is of the medium type and measures 1600 meters (or 5249.344 feet) in length.
o Naturrodelbahn: It is a kind of toboggan run and measures 3500 meters (or 11482.94 feet) in length. 

Lifts: There are a total of 4 lifts on the mountain and they can be listed as below:

o Hauereckjet: It is of the 4-Chair lift type. 
o Schlepplift Hauereck: It is of the Cable lift type. 
o Kinderlift: It is of the Cable lift type. 
o Zauberteppich : It is of the Magic carpet type. 


The Hauereck Ski Area has the most fantastic slopes that one can find in the whole of Austria. Skiers of all classes can find their very own niche here. Furthermore, beginners and experts alike can find difficulties of their own skill level to work with. More so, there is also the – Hauereckabfahrt or the primary slope of the mountain, now, it is perfect for families. This particular one is wide enough to accommodate children and their goofiness and at the same time also allows adults to try out their own maneuvers. If you climb towards the top of the mountain you will find the – Hahngrabenabfahrt. Now, it is also suitable for families however, the lower part of this slope is quite steep and should only be expressly used by the expert members of your family.



   

The Kids-Ski-Land: This snow sports school is located within the resort area and is ideal if you are a beginner. One of its most attractive features is the 27 meter (or 88.58 feet) long magic carpet. Furthermore, it also boasts of a plate lift measuring 100 meters (or 328.08 feet) in length. These features allow the beginners to transition into higher grades of skill. Moreover, do not go by the name – the Kids Ski Land is open for everyone and you can also learn snowboarding as well. 
Snowboarding: The Hauereck is one of the best known places where beginners can learn and true mountain snowboarding. 
Ski Rentals: The Ski Rental Store at Hauereck is fully stocked with the latest of gears – both, the ski and the snowboard equipment’s alike. They also provide a full service station. 
Season: The season at Hauereck usually begins on the 8th of December and then concludes by the 12th of March. 
Operational Hours: The resort operates between 9:00 am in the morning to 16:00 hours in the evening. 


Safety



The International Ski Federation (FIS) mandates certain Austrian region and requires all the visitors and athletes to maintain them at all times. It is not only about your safety but also about the safety of everyone else present on the slope. Furthermore, on the same lines, the Hauereck Ski Area also prescribes the same, for its guests. Kindly take a look below and know about their responsibility code: 

•    Know your own ability: You must be mindful of your own safety when skiing and only use the ski slopes that are suitable to your skiing ability. The routes are divided up into blue (novice), red (intermediate) and black (expert) slopes. Each official ski slope is prepared and checked regularly.
•    Recognize when the material is in proper condition: Part of a safe the skiing experience is having the model of skis or snowboard that is right for you and having an expert adjust the bindings. Trust your specialist dealer. The experts will gladly assist you.
•    Know your own limits: Ski at a speed adapted to the slope and the weather. Avoid jumping into the fun when you are fatigued or do not have the proper technique.
•    Know the FIS rules. The rules for conduct from the international Ski Federation apply worldwide. They are mandatory and enhance skiing safety.



These rules also apply to experts or powder sports professionals and also to individuals of all age groups. Always keep in mind the following points:

•    Be considerate of others and help them in emergencies.
•    Only ski as fast as your ability allows.
•    Choose your lane and pay attention to signs and markings.
•    Be considerate when overtaking, and watch out for other skiers when entering, starting and moving upwards on the slopes.
•    The careful when stopping, ascending and descending.

To 12:00 noon: If you are an adult in and looking for tickets till about this hour during the peak season then you pay EUR 24.50. Similarly, children are charged EUR 12.50, youth have to pay EUR 21.50 and Seniors are charged – EUR 21.50.
