Hochschwarzeck ski resort is located in Upper Bavaria, Germany. The resort stands at the elevation of 1030 meters (3379 feet) and 1385 meters (4543 feet). The vertical drop being a good 355 meters (1165 feet). The resort attracts a large number of tourists thanks to its well-groomed ski slopes. It also combines various winter sports including hiking, skiing and snowboarding. The lovely restaurants are also worth visiting. The resort also provides free parking for its guests. The opening season of this resort is from January to early March and the operating hours are 9 am to 4 pm. The day tickets for adults and children cost €22 ($23.47) and €14 ($14.94) respectively. The resort offers various activities for summers too including hiking and excursion to Wimbachklamm which is a beautiful valley of Berchtesgaden National Park.

Skiing Details

The resort offers a long 5km (3.1 miles) that is well-maintained and keeps skiers and snowboarders safe from avalanches. Hochschwarzeck has five lifts to transport the visitors. There are two J-bar lifts, two T-bar lifts and one chairlift that can together carry 3580 passengers in an hour. The total lift length is 3.4 km (2.11 miles). The chairlift has a fixed grip and can alone carry 720 passengers/per hour. J-bar ski lifts are J-shaped on which the skier leans while he/she is pulled up the ski slope. The two J-bar lifts can carry 700 and 160 passengers respectively. The T-bar lifts are of 600 meters (1968 feet), and 800 meters (2624 feet) and can each carries 1000 passengers in an hour. The resort has a ski school where ski lessons are organised. The instructors are state certified and are expert cross-country skiers. They well-trained staff guarantees quick learning with immediate success. There are special cross-country skiing, snowboarding, alpine skiing and snowboarding courses for both young and old.
