HochZeiger – the perfect winter destination for ski lovers!

If you are planning a winter trip to Piztal, HochZeiger is your place to go. It is the largest ski area in the Piztal with the highest tracks. Lined up with prettiest tracks, HochZeiger has two automatic timing tracks. One is for the Slalom and one for the downhill.

HochZeiger invites people with all abilities and people touring with families in major. There are two blue tracks, eleven red tracks, and four black tracks. So, in total there are seventeen prepared tracks in addition to five unprepared ski routes.

Before visiting the place, a good know-how of the value added places can turn your tour into the experience of the lifetime. To aid you with that we let you know that the route at n0 10 is the longest and has the most beautiful panorama to the left of the plan. Tracks come with a lot of variety to keep you going, promising the beautiful and unusual experiences. In total there are nine ski lifts and one Gondola in the place. The most captivating chair lift is called Zirbenbahn.

HochZeiger ski area is nearly about 15 Km (9.32 miles) from Pitztal glacier ski area. Innsbruck is the nearest airport located, and Jerzens is the nearest resort located to HochZeiger. From Pitztal, one can reach by mini buses and buses running throughout the Pitztal.

Along with skiing, HochZeiger attracts families, snow lovers for Tobogganing and Snowboarding. For kids, there is Bambini Park at the Valley Station and in Pitzi’s Kinderberg Park. The place is totally avalanching safe too and guarantees natural snowmaking on 23 Km (14.29 miles) of ski runs, with 66 snow cannons.

Not just in HochZeiger, with an appropriate ski lift pass you can ski or snowboard in other Pitztal’s ski resorts of Pitztaler Gletscher and Riffcsee. Bambini free passes are available as free ski pass for children below ten years of age, accompanied by a parent. All in all, the place offers attractive family discounts on ski passes. Online shopping facility is available to book ski pass/tickets online with the satisfaction of sure booking from home itself.

The place operates from 2nd December to 21st April, daily from 8:45 to 16:00 hours. In winters, sledging evenings are organized, every Monday and Thursday at the HochZeiger.

Top lift for the slopes from HochZeiger is 237 m (777.55 Ft.), vertical drop is 914 m (2998.68 Ft.), and bottom lift is 1456 m (4776.9 Ft.). Total kilometers covered under Pistes and ski routes is 40 Km (24.85 miles). Here, 10 km (6.21 miles) is marked as easy, 22 km (13.67 miles) as intermediate and 8 km for challenging levels. No cross-country trails are available in HochZeiger region.


Skiing with Kids

HochZeiger is known for being a fun spot during the winter holidays. There are nine comfortable lifts and 40 Km (24.85 miles) of the slope, as mentioned earlier, meeting wishes of small and big skiers. Everyone gets to get on the fun as desired. At HochZeiger Snow Park, Base station, kids learning freestyle work upon their jumps and slides on medium easy lines with over 15 elements.





Lifts in the ski area of HochZeiger start with nine cableways, and is one of the great features on offer at this resort. These lifts have a capacity of carrying 15200 persons per hour. Seat heating facilities are available for some chair lifts. A brief description of nine cableways is provided below:

a) HochZeiger lift

It is 8er gondolas with a bottom station at 1,450 m (4757.21 Ft.), a top station at 2,000 m (6561.67 Ft.), a length of 1,763 m (5784.12 Ft.), a difference in elevation being 550 m (1804.46 Ft.) and capacity load per hour being 2,494.

b) Zirben Lift

This is a six passenger chain lift with protective hood and seat heating. Bottom station is at 1,959 m (6427.16 Ft.), a top station at 2,391 m (7844.48 Ft.), length is 1,026 m (3366.14 Ft.), a difference in elevation is 432 m (1417.32 Ft.) and capacity load per hour is 2,400.

c) Panorama Lift

This is also a 6-passenger chairlift with protective hood and seat heating. Here, a bottom station is 1,802 m (5912.07 Ft.), top station is at 2,370 m (7775.59 Ft.), length is 1,405 m (4609.58 Ft.), a difference in elevation is 568 m (1863.51 Ft.), and capacity load per hour is 2,755.

d) Rotmoos Lift

It is a four-seater chair lift with a bottom station at 1,980 m (6496.06 Ft.), a top station at 2,450 m (8038.05 Ft.), a length being 1,270 m (4166.66 Ft.), a difference in elevation is 470 m (1542 Ft.) and capacity load per hour is 2,750.



e) Sechszeiger two-seater chairlift

It is a two-seater chairlift with a bottom station at 2,000 m (3561.6 Ft.), a top station at 2,370 m (7775.59 Ft), a length being 1,000 m (3280.83 Ft.), a difference in elevation is 370 m (1213.9 Ft.) and capacity load per hour is 1,440.


e) Zollberg

This is a T-bar lift with a bottom station at 1,990 m (6528.87 Ft.), a top station at 2,230 m (7316.27 Ft.), a length being 654 m (2145.66 Ft.), a difference in elevation is 240 m (787.40 Ft.) and capacity load per hour is 1,429.

f) Wiesen T-bar Lift

It is next to the bottom station and the ski school Bambini land.

g) Hahntennen T-bar Lift

Situated at the HochZeiger middle station, Hahntennen lift is a practice lift, very popular for children in the best hands in the 7000 m2  (75,347.37 Ft2) Kinderberg park of HochZeiger ski school.

h) Liss T-bar lift

Another T-bar lift for small and big is a practice lift. It is also used at HochZeiger ski school by ski instructors to demonstrate their skiing skills in the evening ski performances on every Tuesday 8:30 p.m.

Ski routes to the slopes on the HochZeiger are Bucklepistes, HochZeigerloch, and Narrenkopf.

Self-time race

With a touch of personalisation, you can time your race training at racing tracks of HochZeiger. Self-time race opens daily from 9:30 to 16:00 hours. It starts below the top station of the Rotmoos chair lift at 2400 m (7874 Ft.) finishing at 2300 m (7545.93 Ft.).



Apart from skiing in one of the largest areas at HochZeiger, Toboggan is yet another adventure of its own. Toboggan run starts at 2000 m (6561.67 Ft.) above sea level at the top station of the HochZeiger Gondolas. Night Tobogganing is very famous in HochZeiger it takes place every Thursday, covering 6 Km (3.72 miles) on illuminated Toboggan. It is illuminated till 01:30 o’ clock.



HochZeiger is flooded with enough places to satiate your astral cravings. The Zeigerrestaurant is located at the central location, accessible to all skiing guests, toboggans, and walkers. HochGenuss, a high -class restaurant is an amalgamation of glass, wood and warm colors. It offers a very beautiful panoramic view.
