Everyone loves this time of the year, winter when there are heavy discounts and bonuses lined up when one can fly back home and have a big warm get-together with family and friends. With all the merriness in the air, it’s best that one makes most of the inches thick snow with some snow sports at a resort, you only get the chance once a year you get to do so.
For fun packed family or friendly trip, Holiday Mountain is the spot you need. The Holiday Mountain offers a memorable scenic drive along the route. Holiday Mountain has an experience of over half a century. They provide a large variety of programs to deal with people of all age groups and requirements and are well known for their professional instructors. They are located in Monticello, New York in Sullivan County which takes about a 90-minute long drive from the New York City. The mountain is functional and entertains in both winter and summer with different activities to offer. Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park has really been the go to skiing location in the Catskills Region for decades

The Mountain prides itself of a 1550 ft. Summit, with a base of 1150 ft. and a vertical drop of 400 ft. It has a total of 9 trails divided by the level of skiing experience. With three trails assigned to the beginner level, two assigned to intermediate level, 3 for advanced runs and one trail for an expert run. There is a total of 4 lifts in this mountain of which 1 is quad chair type; the other is a double chair type, and the remaining two are surface lifts.
The lift tickets can be booked online prior according to your desired schedule. The Mountain is open for snow sports in winter for over 85 days starting from January to March, with an average snowfall of 50 inches. It has a skiable terrain of 37 acres and allows night skiing on these 37 acres of land. The trails are covered by snowmaking (all the 37 acres) which allows you to ski even when there is no natural snowfall. Along with the nine trails for skiers and snowboarders they provide four snow tubing trails for some sliding fun. One of the finest in the region, Holiday Mountain receives a large number of visitors every winter.
Skiing lessons will be charged base on the package you select and the number of people in it. A group lesson for ages 8 and above costs $35 and begins at 10 am in the morning and has several batches until 6 p.m. Private lessons cost $90, for ages 4 and older one person is assigned to teach the person or child. Semi-private lessons which are eligible for two people aged 5 and above costs $105 and a semi-private lesson eligible for a group of no more than four people is $30. These costs do not include the rentals!
The lift rates depend on the time of visitation. For weekdays from 3 pm to 9 pm, the ticket costs $27, on Friday the same rate of $27 applies till 9 pm after which the price increases to $42. On Saturdays, the ticket costs $42 from 9 am to 5 pm and 2 pm to 9 pm, however, from 5 pm to 9 pm the ticket charges drop to $27, on Sundays from 9 pm to 5 pm the ticket costs $42 and 12 pm to 5 pm $37.
There are special lift rates if you wish to buy tickets for two consecutive days which are both non-refundable and non-transferrable. There also Holiday rates which apply on the Christmas week which starts from December 23 to January 3, Martin Luther King on January 16 and the President’s week. The rates depend on the time and day of your visit. Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and from 2 pm to 9 pm the ticket costs $42, and from 5 pm to 9 pm it costs $27. On Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm $42, from 12 pm to 5 pm ticket costs $37.
The Holiday Mountain offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding instructors. Even a beginner will be able to get hold of skiing after a few sessions of their selected program. They have different slopes as per your skiing requirements. They also have ski club and snowboard club for fans of the sport to have a get-together. They offer a Kinderski program to provide lessons for children aged 4 through 6. They can get together and have a fun and safe experience here at the Holiday Mountain.
The Kinderski program for toddlers without rental costs $92 daily and $370 for 5 Block Sessions. The program including rentals cost $82 daily and $330 for 5 Block Sessions. There are two batches for the Kinderski program one from 10 am to 12:30 pm and another from 1 pm to 3:30 pm.
Holiday Mountain offers four snow tubing trails to provide a fun and frolic alternative for skiers and snowboarders. There are snow tubing sessions divided into sessions for each day and available at different costs which need to be booked online before they sell out. Before one opts for snow tubing they should sign waivers or have to carry along a copy of their driver’s license for identification and agreement of policies. On Fridays there are only two sessions which cost $20, on Saturdays, there are four sessions each cost $20, and on Sundays, there are three sessions which each cost $20.
The rental rate depends on the sport and the day of the plan. Ski rentals on weekdays are $27, on Fridays from 12 pm to 9 pm cost $32. On the Saturdays, right from 9 am in the morning to 5 pm and from 2 pm to 9 pm cost $42, from 5 pm to 9 pm cost $27.On Sundays from 9 pm to 5 pm, it costs $32 and from 12 pm to 5 pm $27. Ski rentals on weekdays cost $32 except for Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm it costs $27
Snowboard rentals begin at the cost of $32 which applies on weekdays only. On Fridays from 12 pm to 5 pm costs $32, from 5 pm to 9 pm $42 and from 12 pm to 9 pm $48. On Saturdays, it costs $48 except from 5 pm to 9 pm it costs $42. On Sundays from 9 pm to 5 pm $48 and 12 pm to 5 pm $42. The holiday rates for rentals are $48 except for 12 pm to 5 pm on Sundays when it costs $42.
The Holiday Mountain is a memorable place to have some family fun. It has special winter activities like snowmobile races and special Olympic ski races.
