The resort lays claim to a lift-served vertical drop of 750 feet. The base elevation at Holiday Valley Ski Area is 1500 feet high above sea level with the top elevation at the height of 2250 feet. The resort experiences an annual snowfall of about 15 feet (4.6 m).

Lifts and Trails

 

 

The Holiday Valley has a total skiable area of around 290 acres. The resort features a total of 58 runs, Out of these beginner runs are 34%, intermediate runs account for 28%, while 37 % are for advanced and 1% runs are exclusive for the experts. The longest run spans an area of 1 mile. The resort also features five terrain parks out of which The Wall, The Wall Bottom and the Wall Top are the toughest and can be accessed only by the experts.

 


With total uphill skier capacity of 23,850 persons per hour, the resort features 13 lifts in total out of which three are high-speed quad chairs, eight fixed grip quad chairs, and two surface lifts.

Unique Events and Attractions

 

 

Fall Festival – Holiday Valley Resort and the adjacent local Tamarack Club come together each year to host a festival each year usually held in the first weekend of October. The event features a 5 km long foot race, chair lift rides, a mountain bike race, food, shopping and other activities to welcome the coming winter season.

Summer Festival – The surrounding town of Ellicottville holds the annual Summer Festival of the Arts is one of the major events held at the resort and the Holiday Valley is a partial promoter of the event. The festival features various concerts and art displays and is held in the first weekend of July.

Double Black Diamond Golf Course – For the summer months, the resort features the Double Black Diamond Golf Course that is actually an 18 hole golf course which bends around the base of the ski mountain. The course opens to the visitors near the end of April ever year and shuts down around the month of October, varying year to year.

Sky High Adventure Park – Another of the resort’s skiing off- season attraction, Sky High Adventure Park includes high ropes courses and a coaster ride which takes the tourists on a 2,490 ft. descent down the mountain.

Holiday Valley ski resort offers two kinds of season passes:

The Classic Season Pass: For those looking for season-long skiing and riding with flexible timings and convenience, this pass is for you. You have the options of either a day pass or a night pass or a Combo Pass. With the Classic Season Pass, you also get benefits like picnics on the hills, private first tracks and also, discounts at other resorts.

Ultimate Passes: These passes are of great value providing you with the options of the day, night, Sunday skiing and riding. The other variants of this pass give you with the options of lift tickets also.

The resort also provides with the facility of renting equipment at the resort. The resort offers well-maintained equipment to children and adults alike. Rent anything you need for skiing well in advance for attractive discounts.

Lodging and Resort Services

The Holiday Valley has its own Inn. The Inn is a comfortable place to hang out around with friends, eat, drink and sleep away the exhaustion of the skiing trip. One mile downtown Ellicottville, the Inn is situated at the perfect spot amongst the ski slopes.
