All the non-national (non-citizens) individuals who are travelling to Canada for a holiday are required to carry a valid passport along with all the other necessary documents. Please note that the night skiing seasons passes can be collected from the Guest Service between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm all throughout the week. Once you have come here all that remains to be done is that you sign the waiver forms and get a picture taken. You can also get your hands on the all night skiing tickets. Also note that these tickets are later on, after 4:30 pm to be exact that they are sold out of the rental shop. It is at this time that the Guest Services closes. If you buy the whole days’ worth of tickets then they also include the tickets for night skiing. Here you will find like-minded individuals who call Kimberley as their one true home. Share with them stories, learn about their adventures and at the same time learn and enhance your existing skill sets. Here you will also find professionals who aim towards guiding you in the best possible manner while at the same time delivering the perfect experience.

   It does not really matter if you hold any experience or not – Kimberley Snow Sports School has well-crafted programs which cater to novices and experts alike. Moreover, as far as the instructors are concerned – each one of them has undergone extensive training and holds a good amount of terrain experience. They also have been the recipients of all the necessary certifications and awards as well.

Since the number of seats is limited each of the interested candidates is requested to make the necessary registrations and bookings early. Prerequisites



One of the most important considerations that you are required to fulfil is the assessment of your existing skill level. Now, the instructors at the snow school are definitely going to assist you in this regard but for your convenience, a list has been prepared below. Read on to know more about the Ability Chart –

   Adult Skier Ability Levels: You can identify by going through the following pointers –
o    Level 1 This is your first time skiing.

o    Level 2 You ski cautiously in a wedge and find Green runs a challenge.

o    Level 3 You ski Green runs comfortably but would like more confidence.

o    Level 4 You cautiously link turns on Blue runs. Your skis are mostly parallel.

o    Level 5 You ski blue runs with confidence and want to challenge black runs and off piste.

o    Level 6 You are comfortable on all black runs and off piste but want to ski with more performance and confidence.

   Adult Snowboard Ability Levels: You can identify by going through the following pointers –  
o    Group 1 This is your first time snowboarding.

o    Group 2 You ride cautiously and find green runs a challenge

o    Group 3 You ride green runs comfortably but would like more confidence.

o    Group 4 You ride blue runs. You would like to learn some basic tricks and learn to ride switch.

o    Group 5 You ride blue and black runs with confidence. You would like to go to the rail park and ride the steeps.

   Kids Ski Ability Levels: You can identify by going through the following pointers –

The Adults Multi-Week Sports School:
To begin with, the school organdies the Ladies Play Day Camps during each of their seasons. The most unique feature of this program is that they are conducted by the most qualified and most experienced instructors or coaches at the school. All these coaches have undergone specific training themselves to satisfy the much needed and taxing demands of this program.

Each of the sessions offered under this program is 2 hours long. These sessions are organized in their all new Semi-Private classes and the total population of every class has been kept under 4 individuals. This is so that proper attention could be delivered to every student.

Once you pay your registration fees you also will be provided – après beverages and Apies towards the end of your session. Furthermore, upon the conclusion of the entire program a winding up party session is also conducted wherein all the ladies can participate in wine tasting, they can also draw prizes and much much more.

Each of these sessions can cost you either CAD $40 per day per session or CAD $59 per day per session. At this moment the school organizes 2 camps keeping in mind ladies of all abilities:

Ladies Get Confident: This is meant for Novices or ladies with the abilities between 1 – 3 ladies,
Free Ride Ladies: This is meant for ladies on the advanced level or with the abilities at 4 – 6 ladies.
The Winter Sports School also has designed a program for youths who belong to the age category of 14 to 16 years. Now, this program aims at advanced parallel skiers who are interested in attaining the roles of instructors. It is a holistic program and will assist in students further developing their skiing skills and finally preparing them for the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance exam. Its features can be listed as follows:

Junior Instructor Training Course: It is a 2-day long course which is usually conducted during the weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Typically, on February 11 & 12 or March 25 & 26.
   Cost: You can enrol yourself in this course by paying a nominal fee of CAD $199.00 for the 2-day long course. It includes Level 1 CSIA Study Manual & Children’s Teach Guide Book.
 Age Group: Individuals who belong to the age group of 14 to 16 years of age can participate in the course.
Session details: Each session is 4.5 hours long.
Training Hours: The schedule is as follows: 10 am – 12:30 pm, break, and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
Skills: The course aims to develop ski improvement, teaching techniques & shadowing lessons. This is in addition to the review & preparation for the Level 1 of CSIA exams.

 Level 1: As was mentioned above – this course is a great way, to begin with if you are aiming for a career in the powder industry. The dates for the 3 day course are –
o    Dec 16, 17, & 18, 2016 or January 13, 14, & 15 or February 24, 25, & 26.

o    Level 1 Course fee CAD $399.00 + taxes (please note that the course fee does not include the cost for the lift tickets).

   Level 2: The details for the second level are as follows –
o    Dec 16, 17, & 18 or January 13, 14, & 15 or February 24, 25, & 26.

Now, considering that uphill now all the details were provided with respect to the adults, this however does not mean that kids are excluded from the school. They are in-fact an integral part of the Winter Sports School. You can go through the mentioned below details to know more –

   Little Rippers: This program caters to kids who are between 3 and / or 4 years. It could very well be said that this program is hands down the best known deal for your child. Under the Little Rippers program, you children can avail an exclusive one on one lesson. And, each of the sessions lasts for at least 45 minutes and they can go up to an hour. These programs are tailored in such a way that not only is the grasping power of every child taken into consideration but also more focus is put on making the learning process rigorous and fun. Details are mentioned below –
o    Days: This program is usually taught on Saturdays or Sundays.

o    Session timings: 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

o    Date of commencement: The 6 week long course usually begins either on the 7th or the 6th of January. Secondly, the 8 week long course begins either on the 7th or the 8th of January every season.

   Alpine Rangers: This program is dedicated to children who are between 5 and 7 years. It is a unique program which aims at making learning fun. The sizes of the classes are on purpose smaller and no more than 6 number of children are induced. Further details can be found below –
o    Days: This program is usually taught on Saturdays or Sundays.

o    Session timings: 10:00 AM or 1:30 PM (2 Hour); 10:00 AM (5.5 Hour).

o    Date of commencement: The 6 week long course usually begins either on the 7th or the 6th of January. Secondly, the 8 week long course begins either on the 7th or the 8th of January every season.

   Kimberley Mountain Special Force: This program has been crafted for children who are between the ages of 8 and 12 years. The very design works towards developing the fundamental techniques and concepts while making learning fun in a social way. It also aims to accommodate students who are at the beginner’s level and also those who present skill. Further details can be found below –
o    Days: This program is usually taught on Saturdays or Sundays.

o    Session timings: 10:00 AM.

o    Date of commencement: The 6 week long course usually begins either on the 7th or the 6th of January. Secondly, the 8 week long course begins either on the 7th or the 8th of January every season.

o    Class Size: Each class comprises of no more than 16 students thereby maintaining the ratio at 1:8.

   Kimberley Jr. Freeride Team: This program has been crafted for children who are between the ages of 8 and 12 years. It is fast paced and at the same time maintains the excitement levels. Kids who are comfortable on blue and black runs are particularly going to have a great time in this program because of the greater degrees of challenges posed here. Every class has students who range between the ability levels 4 and 6, and the student ratio is 1:8.
o     Days: This program is usually taught on Saturdays or Sundays.

o    Session timings: 10:00 AM (5.5 hours).

o    Date of commencement: The 6 week long course usually begins either on the 7th or the 6th of January. Secondly, the 8 week long course begins either on the 7th or the 8th of January every season.

   Kimberley Teen Club: This particular program is for children who are between the ages of 13 and 17 years. It is particularly good for those youths who did not have a chance early in their childhood to practice skiing or snowboarding. Essentially it is like learning and having fun with your friends all throughout. The program also offers lunch with necessary supervision.
o    Days: This program is usually taught on Saturdays or Sundays.

o    Date of commencement: The 6 week long course usually begins either on the 7th or the 6th of January. Secondly, the 8 week long course begins either on the 7th or the 8th of January every season.
