The panorama of this place belongs to a unique level and the cross country skiing is above the levels of what you’d ever expect.

Starting from the early December and lasting through lateMarch, this place has fully equipped slopes. What’s more, there are amazing well-built and well-maintained snow parks and fun areas. Ways to reach this paradise includes travelling by car,by bus, a train or a flight.

You can reach by road via Rheintal Autobahn into the Montafon. The ski resort provides free of charge parking lot, which is right beside the lift. Regular buses also keep taking rounds and they are well scheduled. The connection is between the hotels in the Silbertal and the base stations of Kristberg and SilvrettaMontafon. You can access via Rheintal Autobahn/Arlberg Expressway which exits at Bludenz-Montafon. Snow chains are almost never required. The destination is 16 kilometers (9.9 miles) away which takes a driving time of approximately 20 minutes.

The Montafon Railway has a direct connection from there with the ski bus to Silbertal.

If you are planning on rather flying, there are 5 nearby airports. Airport Innsbruck is 145kilometers (90 miles) away. It takes 1 hour 51 minutes of driving time. Airport Friedrichshafen is 106kilometers (65.8 miles) away. It takes 1 hour and 22 minutes of driving time. Airport Munich is 285 kilometers (177 miles) away. It takes 2 hours 53 minutes of driving time. Airport Zurich is 172 kilometers (106.8 miles) away. It takes 1 hour 55 minutes of driving time. Airport Memmingen is 148 kilometers (91.9 miles) away. It takes 1 hour 39 minutes of driving time.

 

Availability of lifts -

The elevation rises from 889 meters / 2916 feet to 1589 meters / 5213 feet, leaving height of 700 meters. 3 ski lifts are available, which is distributed into 1 reversible ropeways and 2 platter/button lifts. All of these together make it possible to carry 2187 passengers in an hour’s time. The lift covers a total length of 2.6kilometers. Read on to know in detail.

Kristbergbahn, 1575 meters (5167 feet) long has the capacity of riding 215 people in an hour. It is a Reversible Ropeway.

Kristberglift, 285 meters (935 feet) long has the capacity of riding 1000 people in an hour. It is a T-bar Lift.

Sattellift, 695 meters (2280 feet) long has the capacity of riding 972 people in an hour. It is a Fixed-grip Chairlift.

 

 

Slopes -

At Kristberg-Silbertal, well-maintained slopes of 136kilometers (84.5 miles) are accessible for all the skiing people would like to do. It includes varying slopes according to their difficulty level. Even though 13% of the slopes have snowmaking capabilities, there are 2 snow cannons to take care of the rest. So everything else besides, snow is a sure thing. The run locations are under tree lines.

50% of the trails are available for the beginners with enthusiasm for learning how to ski. If the ski board is going to be under your feet for the first time, this trail shall be the best for the start. Get an instructor easily from around here and confide in him to get you learn this skill to the best.

50% of the trails of intermediate level are for skiers with better skills than beginners. If you know the art of skiing already, this trail shall help you enhance your skills. The instructors would always be available for help anyway.

No difficult trails are available. This just makes it very easy to trust that this really is a 10 when it comes to safety. The slopes here are best suited for people new to skiing.

 

Ski rentals -

The ski rental facility is apparently available here with 5 rental stations to choose from. So if you don’t have the perfect equipment or if you fantasise of skiing on the most modern equipment, here’s your chance. Don’t miss it. All the suppliers are comfortable and you might get lucky enough to avail discounts if you pre-order online. Your stuff will be kept ready to go before you even reach this place. Highlights to be known

The Montafon Snowpark is built at the Fredakopf lift and is considered the largest fun park in the Montafon. It is under constantly good supervision by a team of well-defined experts. Basically a chill area with blissful music and cheerful moments to make. Get a free park tour with coaching every Monday from 10 AM onwards on pre registration. With the new Golm-X track at the Golm movement hill, the fun is only getting better. The Garellen Snowpark is exactly the place you are looking for if you’re interested in a little but divine area. It has everything to make a freestyler’s heart pump faster and get thrilled. It is not only perfect for practising, but it offers fun for everyone. And with the Montafon Brandnertal Card, one of the longest fun parks in Vorarlberg, the Funpark Backyards is now available with around 30 obstacles to challenge your skills.

 

Ski Mountaineering

Oh, leaving a line on the untouched snow gives unexplained pleasure, doesn’t it? The hikers are going to love this place because they can get the best of mountaineering experience here. The beginners may get a state approved mountain and ski guide if they’d like some guidance. Make sure you if your insurance covers the cost of rescue in Austria. What is also advised, is to keep necessary equipment like avalanche beacon, a shovel, a probe, and a first-aid kit.

 

Cross-country Skiing

The entrance to 9.3 kilometers (5.7 miles) long trail for a cross-country ski run is groomed every day for the sake of you. What you also get within service is a free heated changing room with wardrobe closet and really cheap skiing tickets are also available for cross-country skiers. If you have issues with equipment, you can get those on rental shops at the ski school Silbertal or at the PanoramagasthofKristberg.

 

Winter Hiking

The Kritsberg is one of the most beautiful winter hiking areas of the Montafon. There are about 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) of cleared and marked paths at Kristberg, Bartholomäberg and Silbertal. A wide range of varied hikes and trails ensure the experience of a lifetime. A total number of 12 hiking trails are available. What’s more beautiful than fresh snow and a mind-blowing panorama around you while you take a stroll?

 

Tobogganing

Run as fast as you want to on two runners. Deep you go into the valley with any kind of slope you would prefer. You can also have a toboggan party during the night and lightly dim lights make the trail more beautiful to look at. Renting is offered on the spot. There is7 daytime toboggan runs available and 2 night ones. Of course, the prices vary accordingly.

 

 

Biking

This sporty recreation is available here with real nature in the foreground. All the challenging slopes await you and you are on for a hell of a ride because there’s so much to discover.

 

Torch Walk

Enchant yourself with the torch walk to Garfrescha. It is simply an unforgettable experience after a cosy Keesknöpflipartie in the Gäßbarga starts the winter hike through the snowy forest. The startling reflections and shadows are totally worth the while.


 

Accommodation

– Silbertal is a nice charming village and you can find any type of accommodation you’d like to get there. Which is why it is advised to get accommodation here. Not only is it easily accessible, but it would not compromise with your comfort zone. The valley is connected to the Silvretta Montafon ski area, to the south and to the north, it is connected to the family ski area Kristberg. There’s a legendary European festival which you’ve got to visit.

 

Mountain Breakfast

Get super delicious breakfast in the morning along with mountain and downhill ride and a well-trained mountain guide. It costs € 2650 for adults, € 2600 for seniors, € 2440 for juniors, € 1500 for children between the age of 6 and 12 years, € 900 for children of 5 years and free for children up to 4 years.
