Under his vision a double chairlift was added to the area with the expansion of the base lodge and construction of a new access road was started.

With the coming years, snowmaking took a different turn for betterment. In the 1971-72 season, the base lodge expanded more with the addition of 5 trails in the northern peak serviced by a second double chairlift. Due to losses for ten consecutive years, In June 2014 Lincoln Hayes announced to close the ski area for the 2014-15 season. The locals of the area rallied and funded the money to open the ski area in the 2014-15 season. Currently, the Lost Valley Ski Area attracts a large number of visitors during the winters, making it quite a famous ski area in the region.
