To get away from the stress of your life, in the Eastern Townships located within the town of Sutton, Quebec is a ski resort Mont Sutton in Canada which is perfect for you. The hill was turned into a downhill ski center by the Boulanger family in 1960; it now hosts a terrain park which has got a lot of guests. The Mont Sutton resort provides with four mountain chalets as well as a wonderful après and a ski bar for its guests. The fall line glades at the mountain are wide enough to be groomed, but when the snow falls they are left alone to enjoy them as they are.

The Mont Sutton boasts of a 3175 ft. summit with a base of 1312 ft. and a vertical drop of 1509 ft. The Mountain consists of 1 Terrain Park which has over 230 acres of skiable terrain with almost 186 acres of snowmaking serviced by ten lifts. Snow fun starts from the month of December and is open for 129 days until March. The resort has about 60 different trails suited for skiers of all levels. The Resort has an experience at hospitality for over half a century and has garnered a lot of recognition with an average snowfall of 197 inches. The place is very well-known in the region, and attracts a large number of visitors every year during the winters. This is mainly because of the top quality services on offer along with the easy connectivity with all the major towns and cities the resort provides.

Skiing and Snowboarding

The Mont Sutton Mountain Ski Area has 60 trails of which 25% are beginner runs, 30% are for intermediate runs, 18% for advanced runs and 27% runs for experts. They have snow all the time we need with their newly equipped state-of-the-art snow guns covering all of the skiable 186 acres of land. The longest run being 2 miles long. The trails are well groomed to suit as per the level of the skier. There are a diverse range of slopes and also provide with professional instructors and programs to guide you for better learning.



Alpine Touring

At Mont Sutton have access to two alpine trail circuits, at Altitude 400m both these alpine circuits start from the main chalet. There is also a Snow School Guide Instructor for these tours which are available by reservation. They will teach you how to install your climbing gears and what to have in your backpack while taking a hike, to learn about various climbing techniques and get some useful tips for a safe hike. Always remember to take a look at the safety rules before your take off on tour.

Snow Park

The Mont Sutton snow park is the ideal place for skiers and snowboarders who wish to try new freestyle tricks and improve their skills while sliding through those terrains on over 15 different modules that are offered for all skill levels of skiers and is manually groomed by professional rangers at the mountain. There are many activities and events at the park like friendly jams which have many prizes to be won all season long and ski and snowboard demos. There is an all-terrain club which is eligible for enthusiasts between the age groups of 7 to 13.

Lessons

There are different packages for different people as per their comfort level and the group selected at the Mont Sutton Mountain. There are various lessons for adults like the weekend clinics, high-performance Fridays, Tuesday 50 club, Wednesday suits and ties and Thursday divas on skis.

The weekend clinic is held on nine consecutive Saturdays or 9 consecutive Sundays with the price ranging from $305 to $435. On Suits and Ties, Wednesday’s program is only for men held on six consecutive Wednesdays with the price ranging from daily $40 to complete program $180. The divas on ski lessons are for women to be celebrated, the program is only for women held on six consecutive Thursday with the price ranging from daily $40 to complete program $180. The club 50 + program is for people of 50 years or over to improve their techniques on the terrain; program held on six consecutive Tuesday with the price ranging from daily $40 to complete program $180. High-performance Friday package is for exploring the trails; the program is held on six consecutive Fridays with the price ranging from daily $40 to complete program $180.

Lift Tickets


The Mont Sutton resort has 230 acres of skiable terrain which are serviced by a total of 10 lifts of which 1 is a high-speed quad, 2 are quad chairs, six are double and remaining 1 is a surface lift. Adults are aged 18 to 64, youth are aged 6 to 13, and students aged 14 to 25 with valid ID and seniors 65 and older. For children ages 5 and below the lift rides are free.

For youth the ticket costs $35 for a day, for mornings until 12 pm ticket costs $31, after 12:30 pm ticket costs $30 and the family zone, and park ticket costs $17. For students the ticket costs $43 for a day, for mornings until 12 pm ticket costs $37, after 12:30 pm ticket costs $35 and the family zone, and park ticket costs $22. For adults the ticket costs $62 for a day, for mornings until 12 pm ticket costs $54, after 12:30 pm ticket costs $51 and the family zone, and park ticket costs $22. For seniors the ticket costs $43 for a day, for mornings until 12 pm ticket costs $37, after 12:30 pm ticket costs $35 and the family zone, and park ticket costs $22.
