What differs Mount Snow from the others is the fact that Mount Snow is made up of four different mountain areas: Main Face, Sunbrook, North Face, and Carinthia.

The Main Face is the part of mountain designed for Beginners and intermediates. Advanced skiers and snowboarders will find the terrain of North Face suitable for them. On the other hand, Carinthia, built in 2007 is home to 12 parks and has over 125 features. In short, it has something for everyone on its platter.




Located in the Southern Vermont, Mount Snow is a ski resort in the Green Mountains and is placed inside the Green Mountain National Forest. Quite near to many prominent cities, the resort is within a driving distance and has an easy route to navigate on the highways and mountain stretches. The resort is located at a distance of 63 miles from Johnson City, Elizabethton, Asheville, Greeneville, Boone, Morganton, Lenoir, Bristol, Kingsport, Bloomingdale, Hendersonville, Waynesville, Hickory, and Shelby.




The resort lays claim to a lift-served vertical drop of 1750 feet (530 m). The base at Mount Snow ski resort is at an elevation of 1900 feet above sea level with the summit elevation at 3600 feet. The resort experiences an annual snowfall of about 120 inches (3000 mm).

Lifts and Trails

The resort has a skiable area of around 588 acres which is easily accessible by the lifts. There are a total of 85 runs out of which 14 % are beginner runs, 73 % account for the intermediate runs and 13 % of them count as the advanced runs. The longest run spans an area of 2 miles. The resort also features ten terrain parks. The cross country trail area in the resort runs around 16 km. The trails at the resort include two of the toughest trails. The Blue Square which spans 73% of the total area and the Black Diamond which covers 13% of the area.

With each lift having a carrying capacity of 6600 persons per hour, the resort features 20 lifts in total out of which 5 are surface lifts, 4 are  Double lifts, 6 are triple lifts, 1 is Quad lift, 3 are Hi-Speed Quad lifts and the remaining 1 is a Six Pack lift.




The 49 Degrees North Winter Sports Foundation is focused on the promotion and spread of alpine and recreational cross country skiing in the country. The foundation is based on the philosophy of encouraging and thereby helping academic achievements, and also helps in promoting the positive aspects of discipline, character building, sportsmanship and in deciding a goal for one’s life and working towards it with full passion.

The Resort’s lodging options include Grand Summit Resort Hotel & Conference Center, Mount Snow Condominiums, and Snow Lake Lodge. Depending on the room or suite you opt for, the lodgings cost around $99- $ 250 for a night. All the rooms come with all basic and luxurious amenities according to the time of the year. With a lovely bed and breakfast service available at each Inn, it is sure to start your day on a good note and end it at a restful mode.

Other nearby lodgings include Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, Snow Mountain Village, Snow Goose Inn and Deer Hill Inn. Most of these nearby lodgings are quite affordable and at a convenient distance from the resort.



The resort is priced at $95 for an adult lift ticket at $ 479 – $999 for an adult season pass. Not the cheapest as compared to other ski resorts, the price range scores a bit more than the average ones. However, compared to the skiable area provided and the terrain and trail parks you can surely say that it is of value to the dollar. Lift tickets deals are available, and you can get an attractive discount if you book the tickets online.


Apart from skiing, the 85 runs, ten terrain parks and 20 lifts, Mount Snow Ski Resort also offers tubing, snowshoeing and snowmobile tours. Night Skiing is available only for a limited period of time and for a quite short area. The resort also provides a variety of family activities and activities for children along with the camps.
