SILBERBERG – an ideal resort for adventure lovers in Germany

For vacations, most families wish to escape into fantasy as they head toward a snowy region, which offers a wide variety of skiing slopes, catering to beginners and intermediate learners in the family. The winter sports area is located between the altitudes of 750-955 metres (2460.63-3133.2 feet). The Silberberg – Bodenmais resort provides a groomed terrain of 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) suited for the beginners and a terrain of 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) for the moderate level skiers and snowboarders. The longest run is a ski slope on the Silberberg of a length of 1 kilometre (0.6 miles), with an elevation difference of 200 metres (656 feet).


The resort is facilitated with two ski lifts, with a total capacity of 1250 passengers per hour, with a total lift length of 0.9 km (0.5 miles) total. Out of the two lifts, one is a double chair lift, with a fixed grip and two persons carrying capacity. This ski lift is of a length of 740 metres (2427.82 feet), manufactured by Seba. It has a carrying capacity of 750 people per hour. The other lift is a Rope tow/beginner lift of a length of 150 metres (492.126 feet). The lift has a carrying capacity of 500 per hour. Other types of transporting the passengers to the ski area are by a mechanism called Suskind Moving Carpet.




There is a range of 9 excellent cross-country ski-runs, of a distance of 114 kilometres (70.8 miles). The resort also boasts of 8 skating courses, of a distance of 110 kilometres 68.3 miles). 1 High Cross-Country skiing run of 60 kilometres (37 miles) is available at the resort.


The highlight of the resort is the added feature of the presence of Toboggan run, with rental options. Winter hiking trails are also available, for a distance of 10 kilometres (7.45 miles). The 600 metres (1968 feet) long run is a great treat for young and old, as they slide through the winter landscape, amidst the Bavarian Forest. At the base of the Toboggan run, there is a sledge rental. Worth knowing facilities available in this particular resort is Artificial Snow -making cannons, 2 in number. 50% of the slopes have the capability to make artificial snow. The sport of Valley run is also available at Silberberg. Two special attractions are a magic carpet and a snow carousel, which would be a help for the children to take their first steps at skiing.


The various resorts close to Silberberg-Bodenmais include Zwiesel-Rabenstein at a distance of 6 kilometres (3.6 miles), Arber at a distance of 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) and Zelezna Ruda Speak at a distance of 11 kilometres (6.8 miles).


The ticket price for a ski pass for adults is at 16 pounds, while at 14 pounds for children. From the Regen railway station, you can take a taxi or the bus 6201 to Bischofsmais. From this stop, a ski bus takes you directly to the base station. All in all, the ski resort at Silberberg, guarantees a wholesome vacation time for the entire family as skiers and snowboarders.
