The Ski Association of Japan has shifted into its new offices in the newly-constructed “Japan Sport Olympic Square” in Tokyo. The building is located in front of the Japanese capital’s Olympic Stadium which is currently under construction for the Tokyo 2020 Games. The multi-story, state-of-the-art facility is now home to the Japanese Olympic Committee and Japan Sports Association too.
You can see the bronze statues of Pierre de Coubertin, one of the fathers of the modern Olympic Games, and Jigoro Kan?, the founder of judo, can be seen on site.
The International Ski Federation (FIS) honorary member Yoshiro Ito of Japan visited the FIS office in the Swiss municipality of Oberhofen in November of last year to discuss Sapporo’s potential candidacy for the 2030 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
