The ski resort Tauplitzalm stands at an elevation of 1,965 meters (1.22 miles), while the base elevation is 896 meters (0.50 mile). With some elegantly groomed slopes for learners and intermediate players, the resort is a host to families and children. The surroundings compliment the beauty of the resort by making it a peaceful and comfortable stay for people of all ages.
Coming to the lifts and the slopes, the resort is proud to present a grand total of 16 lifts to offer a traffic-free transport to the guests. The 42 kilometers (26.09 miles) long slopes are perfectly divided among the easy, the intermediate and the professionals. Tauplitzalm is a paradise for all!
Simple traveling is a relaxing exercise for winter lovers, and we offer you a total of 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) long ski routes, so enjoy the surroundings while sitting in the lifts.
Summertime in the Brandnertal
Sporty change offers 400 km (248.54 miles) of hiking trails, climbing gardens, 110 km (68.35 miles) of challenging mountain biking trails, an 18-hole golf course, tennis and indoor courts, riding arenas and stables, three 3D arc parcours and much more. Timings starting from Mon-Sat: 08.30-13.00 & 14.00-16.30 hours.
With a total of 16 lifts, we promise you some comfortable transport and modern facilities. Most of the runs can be accessed through the lifts, and most of the lifts have a weather protector. Let us now introduce you to some of the most amazing lifts in the resort.
Meet the Mitterstein cable, a gondola lift, the best one in the whole of Styria. A marvel in itself is the 6-person chairlift which is equipped with modern weather protectors. The Tauplitz I+II work as feeder lifts from Tauplitz carrying people all the way to the runs.
The total capacity of the lifts is 18525 passengers/ hour, and the average length is 11 kilometers (6.8 miles). Ascension is available in the form of SunKid Magic Carpet.
Well, some new excitement awaits those who visit Tauplitzalm this winter, at 700 meters (0.43 mile) height slopes work through the Mitterstein lift and they are all open to all skiers. The “Kleine Sued” (called the small South) is a paradise for free riders. The terrain is easily accessible thanks to the Mitterstein lift.
The 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) long slopes are beautifully divided among the three levels, offering a marvelous ride to every kind of player. Most slopes pass through the forested area in the lower part of the terrain. For the learners try the runs at the Tauplitz Alm.
Novices- Coming to the newcomers, we offer you a run worth 18 kilometers (11.18 miles). Go sliding or relax while riding, the run is a perfect blend of thrill and ease.
Semi- pros- For the less experienced we have some 18 kilometers (11.18 miles) of unparallel terrain, try running down or fight for the adventure, these slopes will not disappoint you.
Pros- The professionals in the game should start to worry- the 6 kilometers (3.72 miles) long run is a challenge. Bring in your best ski shoes for these slopes are a daring ride, some of the best in Austria.
Facts Worth Knowing
We will not disappoint you with our range of interesting and amazing details about Tauplitzalm and its lifts and slopes. The resort is capable of producing artificial snow; some 135 snow cannon cater to 99% of the slopes. Leaving aside the skiing rides on the slopes, there are two valley runs, one leading to Tauplitz and the other to Bad Mitterndorf. You can only use a ski bus from Bad Mitterndorf to the resort, as no lifts are available for this journey.
Longest run- Not surprisingly there are two very long runs in the resort. The first one is a 6 kilometers (3.72 miles) long run from Lawinenstein to Tauplitz- the average elevation difference is 1069 meters.
This second longest run is a 6 kilometers (3.72 miles) ride between Lawinenstein and Bad Mitterndorf, the average elevation for this run is 1153 meters (0.71 miles). As mentioned earlier no lift is available from Bad Mitterndorf, so use the ski bus.
Most difficult run- 27 Mitterstein is your enemy. Win the challenge through a ride on this giant located at an elevation difference of 350 meters (0.2 miles). The total length of this slope is 1 kilometers (0.62 miles).
Ski tours– The ski tour is a family favorite. A total of 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) is devoted to ski touring so one can experience a relaxing journey through the route. The tour is offered at two locations. For a comforting tour choose the Grosse Almrunde, this travel offers a journey through the entire resort. You can begin your journey in the Tauplitz or the Mitterstein lift.
The second tour is the Panorama circuit tour. A mesmerizing view of the Grimming and Dachstein glacier, the tour is a wonder in its self.
Hiking– You can get a closer look at the local culture, cuisine, and drinks while walking the inroad of the town. Hiking is a fun filled exercise, team it up with a picnic, and we are ready for a family getaway.
The prices for the lift tickets vary according to season and duration of time. For an adult, the tickets are available at €40 ($ 42.79), for a child the price is €20.50 ($ 21.93), and for youth, the price is €35.50 ($37.98).
The high is observed between early December and mid- April. The operational timings for the lifts are from 9 hours to 16 hours. Both the seasonal variations and lift timings are subject to weather conditions.

Nearest airports are many- you can choose the Graz (GRZ), Austria located at a distance of 152 kilometers (94.44 miles) from the resort. Choose Munich (MUC), Germany, the distance between the resort, and the airport is about 320 kilometers (198.8 miles). The third nearest airport is Salzburg (SZG), Austria located at a distance of about 134 kilometers from the resort.
Transport through is possible. The OBB Tauplitz train station is the nearest to the resort, at a distance of about 2 kilometers (1.24 miles). For the travel between the train station and the resort use the ski train, free of charge.
