A move that left many surprised was the announcement of many surprised. Ski resorts all across the United States have decided to close down their business until the threat of COVID-19 is resolved. The decision came out after the Coronovirus started to stretch out its roots in the American soil. It seems the US is also following the example of countries like France and Austria, where the functioning of institutions like restaurants and ski resorts have been suspended to subdue the outbreak of COVID-19.

Prominent figures of the industry like Vail Resorts and Alterra Mountain Company have taken the decision to close down 49 ski resorts in America that enjoy the highest popularity. The announcement was nothing less than a shocker as they had previously assured that they won’t be shutting their resorts but would take the required safety measures to keep the COVID-19 virus at bay.

Many other ski resorts have decided to follow the same path and have decided to cease their operations for now. Jared Polis, the Governor of Colorado has issued an official order instructing the closure of all ski resorts within the state.
