Located in the Hohenbogenwinkel and in the Nature Park Upper Bavarian Forest, Voithenberg Gibacht is a breathtakingly beautiful resort which has a lot to offer to its visitors. Be it the serene view from the top of the mountains or the thrilling twists and turns of the slope, this resort delivers in every possible way. There are 2 airports from where you can reach the resort in a feasible manner. First up is Munich Airport which is at a distance of 130 kilometers from the resort meaning a car ride of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes will be enough to reach the resort. Next is Salzburg Airport at a distance of 105 kilometers and drive time of 1 hour 10 minutes away from the resort. There is no direct connectivity of train.
Ski resort Voithenberg Gibacht offers you a stunning slope that spreads approximately 4.5 kilometers in length. The slope has something to offer to every level of skiers ranging from beginners to experts. Almost 24 percent of slope which comprises of 1.1 kilometer of the total length is a good turf for the beginners to start their winter sports journey. A major section of the slope, i.e. 49 percent comprising of 2.2 kilometers of the total length is the playing ground for skiers who are above amateurs and are on an intermediate level. The remaining 1.2 kilometers of the slope (27 percent in share) is for the expert skiers who want to show off their perfect skills. A fact worth knowing is that Valley Runs are also available, so this is surely a delight for the skiers.
At Voithenberg Gibacht, there are 3 ski lifts in total. All of these three lifts are T-Bar lifts in nature. With a total lift length of approximately 3.6 kilometers and can efficiently carry up to 3000 people in an hour from the base to the summit of the resort. Prices for a single day pass are very reasonable as well. Adults are required to pay an amount of 16.50 Euros for one-day pass whereas kids get a little concession and the cost of their single day pass is 12.50 Euros. To the customer’s delight, half day passes are also available for both kids and adults. The cost of half day pass is 11.50 and 8.50 Euros respectively for adults and kids.
Indeed the best season to ski and snowboard at ski resort Voithenberg Gibacht is January because of the better snow conditions. Generally, the resort opens up for the visitors late in the month of December and bids farewell to them somewhere in the mid of March. Operating timings during general season are 9:30AM to 4:30PM. There is a ski school as well where you can hone your skills by learning from the masters of the sport. In addition to the above features, they offer other fun winter activities such as sleigh trip and curling.
